Franklin Caravans has continued its expansion plans today as they open a brand new manufacturing facility in Melbourne’s North with Victorian Government assistance.

Member for Broadmeadows Frank McGuire today opened their newest manufacturing facility in Campbellfield after surpassing operational goals and creating new jobs in the industry to add another 20 workers to their organisation.

In 2015, Franklin Caravans received a grant under the Melbourne’s North Innovation and Investment Fund (MNIIF), which made the expansion come to fruition.

Not only did the grant allow them to increase production, the funding has also been used to support the ongoing investment in renewable energy, with solar power now producing 67% of the factory’s energy requirements.

This further strengthens Victoria’s caravan manufacturing identity, producing a total of 88 per cent of all recreation vehicles in Australia and contributing a staggering $1.4 billion to the state economy.

Ramping up their production to around 900 caravans per year through six factories, Directors Keir Smith, Steve Caruso and Bruno Caruso now find their brand situated in the top five caravan manufacturers in Australia.
